A train that never falls short of promising you a royal experience, the Maharajas' Express features carriages with Deluxe Cabins, six Junior Suites, two Suites and one Grand Presidential Suite. Each has large panoramic windows allowing you to savour every bit of magnificent India. Enjoy individual temperature controls, televisions & DVD players, direct dial telephone and internet. In-house movies and live television also keep you entertained during the journey and you will be equipped with complimentary sightseeing kits such as bottle coolers, pith hats and shoe uppers on days out. The Maharajas' Express has two fine dining restaurants that allowing everyone on board to dine together. Relax in one of two bars including an exotic Safari bar and the lounge bar Rajah Club with comfortable club arm-chairs and there is even a high-end boutique featuring exquisite and unique creations. All brought to you by a team of highly motivated hospitality staff ensuring the guest experience is unmatched and every need is not just met, but anticipated.

The Maharajas’ Express – The Indian Panorama explores the hidden riches of India lie in its breathtaking beauty and its diversity of cultures. With world’s leading luxury train, Maharajas’ Express, you can embark on an unforgettable escapade that starts off with the capital city of Delhi. Guests journey their way through iridescent lands of Jaipur to reach the vivid greens of Ranthambore. We then take our royal guests to the ancient capital city of Mughals, Fatehpur Sikri and then to Agra where they can witness the immortal sheen of the Taj Mahal. They soak in the regality of Gwalior and discover the sensuous moods of the temples of Khajuraho. Finally, we reach the sacred city of Varanasi and observe the divine beauty of River Ganges.

ITINERARY

Day 1 – Board the Train at Delhi and onto Jaipur

A traditional welcome will greet you when you board the train. Enjoy breakfast and lunch on board. Arrive Jaipur and visit the City Palace Galleries followed by dinner at Rambagh Palace Hotel. Return to train for overnight at Jaipur.

Day 2 – Jaipur

On board breakfast followed by a visit to Amber Fort. Return to train for lunch onboard. In the afternoon you can enjoy optional activities-Spa Treatment/Shopping/visit to City Palace and Jantar Mantar. Dinner and overnight on board train. Proceed to Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambore).

Day 3 – Ranthambore - Fatehpur Sikri

Embark on an exciting game drive into the Ranthambore National Park. Return to train for breakfast and lunch on board as you proceed to Fatehpur Sikri. Visit the deserted Mughal City of Fatehpur Sikri. Dinner and overnight on board train.

Day 4 – Agra

Disembark for an early morning visit to the exquisite Taj Mahal followed by a champagne breakfast at Taj Khema. Return to train for lunch. Afternoon optional activities include Spa Treatment/Agra Fort or local City Tour. Dinner and overnight on board train.

Day 5 – Orchha and Khajuraho

Visit Orchha Fort and take Village Tour by Tuk Tuks. Lunch on board train before afternoon arrival at Khajuraho. Continue to the World Heritage temples of Khajuraho. Optional evening activities include Spa/Light and Sound Show/Dances of India Show.

Dinner and overnight on board train. Proceed to Varanasi.

Day 6 – Varanasi

Arrive Varanasi and have lunch at the Taj Ganges Hotel. Tour the holy city of Varanasi including the ancient ruins of Sarnath, Varanasi Silk Weaving Centre and a scenic cruise on the sacred Ganges. Witness the magical evening Aarti on the ghat: of the Ganges. Dinner with Kathak Dance at Brij Rama Palace and return to train for overnight. Proceed to Delhi.

Day 7 – Delhi

Breakfast and lunch on board before arrival into Delhi and bid farewell to the train.
