Indulge yourself by travelling in style from London to Venice on the iconic Venice Simplon Orient Express. Spend two days enjoying the epitome of rail travel elegance before arriving in Venice for a leisurely 2-night stay - plenty of time to make the most of your 48 hour Vaporetto waterbus ticket to see the wonderful sights. Your return to London is via Lausanne where you overnight in the 5 star Lausanne Palace and Spa. Your train journey to Lausanne via Milan and onwards to Paris will be in First Class.
ITINERARY
Day 1
Board the Belmond British Pullman train at London Victoria station, your steward will show you to your reserved seat. Sit back and enjoy Brunch served with a Bellini as you travel through the Kentish countryside. After crossing the Channel board the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express train. Enjoy a delicious four-course dinner, prepared by skilled French chefs. After dinner retire to your cabin, which has now been transformed into a cosy bedroom.
Day 2
You awake to the magnificent mountain and countryside scenery as breakfast is served in your cabin at a time to suit you. Spend the morning relaxing in your cabin or in the Bar Car chatting to fellow guests. Enjoy a leisurely three-course lunch which is served in another one of the beautiful restaurant cars. While away the afternoon admiring the passing scenery. Later, afternoon tea is served in your cabin. All too soon it is time to prepare to disembark as the train crosses the Venetian Lagoon and pulls into Santa Lucia station. Private boat transfer to the 4* Savonia & Jolanda Hotel where you stay for two nights.
Day 3
Free day in Venice to explore using your 48 hour Vaporetto waterbus ticket.
Day 4
A private boat transfer will collect you from your hotel and take you to the station where you board the morning Frecciabianca train to Milan travelling in first class. Upon arrival in to Milan you have a leisurely change to the EuroCity train to Lausanne, again first class. Your hotel tonight is a short walk from the station in Lausanne and is the 5* Lausanne Palace and Spa, you stay here one night.
Day 5
A lunch time departure from Lausanne by TGV Lyria, your first class seats include a light snack and beverages. Upon arrival at Paris Gare du Lyon station you have a private car transfer to Gare du Nord where you check in to the Eurostar terminal before taking your Standard Premier Seats on the Eurostar back to London. A light meal and drinks are served at you seat. Arrive back at St Pancras late evening.
